I agree, branding is key. As soon as possible, I plan to get a custom design for my blog, it’s really the best way to go if you plan to be around for any decent amount of time.

I like the header on here, as you say, it’s unique. I’ve been planning to get me a little mascot guy, or a header created, as well as a custom theme.

I’m sure that he doesn’t mean that your content isn’t good or anything like that, but with the thousands of blogs a day it’s really hard to know which ones are good or not.
Usually I stick to a blog when I see something that is really unique, like your header and Jim’s (theNetFool’s outrageous contest)

Am I correct Jim?

Great post, I really like your blog’s uniqueness, and think that the header really makes the blog. I probably wouldn’t have honestly considered your blog as a good one unless it looked so nice, so I think that blogs, especially those with less users (start-ups) can stand to benefit from a great design at hand. Not to override content, but a design should be your first focus if you are launching a new website.
